disconnected kickdown cable

As a temporary fix, I moved the lever all the way forward, and disconnected the kickdown cable on my 86 Turbo Z. (See this thread for an exact description of the problem.) Since its pretty much stuck, I dont think it will move. Will leaving it disconnected hurt anything? FYI, with the cable disconnected, it shifts perfect and better than it ever has. Thanks!

As long as it's all the way forward, shouldn't hurt anything but shift quality. If it is stuck, it's not staying all the way forward.
Becareful, this lever affects line pressure and you can burn your tranny up very fast!!!!!!!!!
