86 daytona z with auto trans. when rpms drop just under 2000 trans will downshift into second. will not shift back into third until rpms get around 3000. trans has been a bit sluggish from a dead start. sometimes gas pedal is tuff to push. also, on the highway, it will not kick down to passing gear even if i jam the pedal to the floor. tried adjusting the kickdown cable but there is still the same issue. can anyone please help. thanx, justin.

hmm...assuming the kickdown is adjusted properly and the cable itself is good, it might be in the valve body.

ok so i guess im doing something wrong. i ajusted the cable, many times. but i cant get rid of one problem. when i push the gas pedal down more that half way, while in drive, it pulls the shiter into neutral? what did i do?

now it is very hard to move the shifter. it will move freely when its not hooked to the shifter. i have adjusted this several times also.
trans is fine on the highway. on the street, shifts are soft
