I am planning on a quick re-ring in the car. Question is, I hear of people replacing pistons at this time. Aren’t these engine internally balanced? How are they saying this with out sending out to have balanced? I am not a novice to auto repair so the more detailed answers would be greatly appreciated. Tried searching this but couldn’t easily find the answer. Thanks for your time!

These mtrs come Very well balanced from factory, certainly for 0-7000rpm use anyways. So unless you are making major changes to the internals, or building for 7500+RPM, you really shouldn't have an issue.

Having said that, if you're changing one component and trying to have it match 3 others, it never hurts to weight things, just so you know where your at.......

What Shadow says but most replacement pistons are far inferior to OEM.

Many of us prefer used to replacements.

What year/model etc??

Thanks
