Hi All,
I looked through my Mopar set of maintenance books and there are specs
on the shape of the bore, but I didn't see one on the space
between the piston and cylinder wall?

I'm presuming you are supposed to derive it?
-- But if you are using over-size pistons wouldn't you want to know
what the spec is for piston to bore spacing.

My concern is that I believe my engine was honed, not bored, but there
seems to be more space between the piston and the cylinder wall then
one would expect.

I have the head off the engine, but I have not pulled the crankshaft out
and measured a piston.

Thank you I must have missed the Piston to Cylinder clearance table, looks like .0027 inches is the wear limit.
-- Doesn't seem like much wear and you would need to bore the cylidner.

I did check the bores and they seem very straight.

Boring means new pistons and quality pistons are now non existent, unless forged.

If your pistons and bore are in good shape I would seriously consider reusing them.

They're almost always beyond spec but still function perfectly.

This set pictured had oversize wrist pins installed and were knurled.

The wrist pins can be a source of piston noise when the piston pin boss is worn.
