i will begin with taking off the dash to figure out what courses the smoke and burnt smell.

talk to you later!

I am a little bit confused on your temp readings although the only one that seems a little suspect is "Fan On".
Your pic of "After 25 minutes of driving" shows coolant temp at about 195 degrees F (2.54 volts) which is what is to be expected.
Your pic showing "Fan On" shows a temp of approx. 155 degrees (3.32 volts) F, way to low for after fan cycles off.

1)With the car at idle at what temp/voltage does the cooling fan come on?
2)With the car at idle at what temp/voltage does the cooling fan shut off?
3)When the cooling fan cycles on, what is the gauge in the car reading?

I do not think your issue is engine related, I think the issue is Instrument Cluster related.
Checking the temp/voltages I posted above will verify this.
Refresh my memory, did this car come with a Digital Cluster or did you Retrofit and Add the Digital Cluster?

i think you're right about the cluster suspision. I swapped to this digital 2 years ago.
since i saw smoke coming out the dash the first time (last week) i removed it and i smelled a strange uhh ? which could be a melting print. I had no strenght to look earlier due to the multiple issues and will investigate it this weekend.

very sad issue is the fact that i sold my spareone to somebody who needed one. crycry.

i let you know monday what i found.

wish you a very nice and relaxing weekend

i think i found the problem with the dash.
i took it apart and investigate it and then found a burnt part on the print.
the part and the print are also wet and smelly

luckely for me a friend of my had a the same rare digidash left and wil send it to me.

i keep you posted.

okay, received the new dash today and installed it.
working fine but temp gauge stays low.
i understood that the coolant temperature sender unit is not engine related, so perhaps i renew the wire from the sender to the dash?

drove for 15 minutes which should be enough i think.
i am affraid to course a new malfunction inside the dash and to prevoke that i stopped driving.

what does you're fantasy says?

1)Did you run these tests to determine actual cooling system temp?
a)With the car at idle at what temp/voltage does the cooling fan come on?
b)With the car at idle at what temp/voltage does the cooling fan shut off?
c)When the cooling fan cycles on, what is the gauge in the car reading?

2)Have you run the cluster self test?
(6)90 Electronic Cluster Self Test.jpg

3)The electronic instrument cluster is BCM controlled, do you have access to a scan tool that will allow you to access Engine Data and the BCM?

4)The engine temperature sending unit is only a variable resistor to ground for the gauge.
On an analog gauge if you remove the wire from the sending unit and connect a jumper wire from the sender connector to ground with the key on the gauge will read Full/Max Hot.
It should work the same way with the Electronic Cluster.
This will tell you if the wiring is OK from the sending unit to the cluster and if the gauge itself is functioning.

okay, what did i do today.
i messured the ohm on the purple/yellow wire from the sending unit to the bcm.
it first messured 0, so that was good. after a vieuw seconds it starts to count on.
then i messured for voltage, which may not i beleive, but it messured 0.4, 0,5

then i installed a new wire from the unit directly to the bcm and the gauge still stays down.
then i swapped the ole sending unit for a new one and after 10 minutes orso on idle the gauge goes up to the sealing and 2 gauges where acting weird. Oil pressure and watertemperature.

now i beleive i ordered the wrong unit at rockauto.com and today i ordered a standard one.

today Temperature Sender / Sensor,
Body Control Module (BCM)11 / 03 / 2020Shipped $257.78
two weeks ago ULTRA-POWER TS176 Temperature Sender / Sensor11 / 18 / 2020S hipped $25.16

i expectit it to arraive at tuesday.

Did you do any of this?
