Hello all,
Last evening I was reading through my FSM to make sure I had taken care of everything on my fuel rail, when I found a name an part number for that strange little blob on the end of the fuel rail - the Pulsation Damper!
After looking online, I discovered that the part is long-discontinued, but there are aftermarket options available.
Does anyone know a way to get the old damper off without destroying the rail, and what thread pitch it is put on with?
This would be the part I'd replace the factory piece with:
If it matters, my car is a 87 Daytona Shelby Z with the TII
Thoughts?

IIRC it's standard pipe thread.
I would gently heat it up w a propane torch (after thoroughly de-gassing the rail !! ;) )

also IIRC other TD'ers have removed it and simply put a pipe plug there w/o any noticeable issues
(plz someone else jump in if that's not true :) )

Correct and there is an inner tube that many remove that improves fuel supply to the injectors.

Some also supply fuel to that end after eliminating the un needed noise damper.

Thanks

What size thread is the damper? If the internal sleeve is removed, whats the best way to cap off the factory line?

Most don't cap off the original line but make the rail dual feed from each end.

Here is a thread with sizes but crappy pictures, better if you click on them.

Thanks
Randy
