these are for 927pins. When these were installed the machine shop wasn’t aware of having to make sure both sides of crank journals were clean and clear of any rough casting. 1 rod on one side has several thou removed.

Yep, side clearance is critical esp. in aluminum rod applications, vertical clearance too. I made up a fixture to drill those bearings for the pin in the cap.

Agreed, and this was an engine that I only got involved with after customer had gotten all the parts and used a cast 2.2 crank. I should have inspected Everything myself. Just shows that machine shops that aren't use to certain builds can miss things and often do.
