its a 91 spirit r/t with a 568. i have 3, 4, 5 and reverse. i had my girl in the car while i played with the linkage and she was able to get first but when i put it in to reverse i couldnt get it back in to 1st. the bushings are new.
on the 568 there's 2 shifter cables. the one in the back of the trans and the one on top. the one on top isnt moving enough forward to grab 1 and 2. when its in the center it gets 3 and 4 and when it comes back it gets 5 and r. it didnt look to be twisted or anything.

Can't help but when I read that it brought back a trip from Norfolk to St. Louis. Ford V8 and halfway there I lost cylinders 2,4,6,8. I had somebody fill the tank while I kept goosing the gas. I actually made it all the way and drove straight to the mechanic and called my dad to pick us up at 3 am. Good luck!
