imo, forged slugs are the first thing when rebuilding a shortblock. they are not required, but if you have a boost bug(hehehe) it will be almost necessary. i, like many others, felt it wasnt neccessary at first and ended up cracking a couple pistons. if they are in your budget, get them.
also be sure to get a new oil pump and pick-up. have the machine shop check everything before ordering parts, or making any decisions.
couple of choices on heads, but be sure if you are using a x-drill head, use the mp .006 gasket, if the head is non x-drill use the .005 h gasket.
unfortuantely right now i don't have the money for forged pistons and it is a cross drilled head....the n/a cam is an upgrade correct? if so there's a yard here that has about 30 n/a shadows and such.

well, depends oupon boost levels... for lower levels such as up to 15-18 the n/a cam would be good. anything over about 18psi and your better off with an 88/89 turbo roller cam.
alright i only plan on running 15 psi....and i also plan on buying a diff turbo cuz the mitsu's suck. thanks again adam
your welcome,
sounds like you just need to get a garret:)
don't we all need a garrett though? :D :D ;)
