what i have is a 84 turbo z 5 speed i just bought . it idles fine but smokes white just a bit at first but more excessive with throttle. when you stomp the throttle it stalls on its face. i am not sure but the smoke smells like fuel heavily . i am running +40 and they have converted it to t2,
Daytona Junkie so what do you think?

sounds like a head gasket. have you monitored the coolant level? could be condensation too

check all vac lines too. whats vac sit at, at idle?
+40's with just a t2 swap, they are way too big. do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on the car? if so what is the fuel pressure reading(need a fuel pressure gauge to read it) that alone can and will cause it to smell pig rich stumble and stall and could cause some whitish looking smoke from the exhaust due to all the unburnt fuel making it through the combustion chamber and into the exhaust system.
How did you convert an 84 T1 to T2? It's almost impossible.
it's not impossible, all you need is a donor car for the whole harness, then your in like flynn. he bought it that way from what he said earlier.
yes bought it like that i plan on using my 87 for a swap into my 85 ,. im sure the car has been altered more than the injectors but i am going to start with the vacs and the map and go from there
. I really want someone to show me how to convert an 84 to t2 without swapping in an entire 85 up harness from the front to the rear!

Donor car?????????
why couldn't the 84 lm be reprogramed ? - granted it would be a real custom cal - I don't see anything for 84's
why try to make it harder then it has to be?? find a donor car, pull the whole harness out, install donor harness into 84 and taadaa swapped over harness, really isnt as hard as it sounds, yea it sucks pulling dashes and all but think about what you will have when it's done.

i bought a donor car to do mine and i will let you know how it went when i have finished that one, lol but it really doesnt seem like its going to be a real tough job but i dont know yet
back on topic - I'd swap out the +40's to start AND change the oil
