ON any 8v, the max HP that you will ever push will be around 400hp...that type of turbo should be good for that number.

Max boost should be soon before 3,000RPMs.
ok so I am a little new but at the same boost level would it be puting down more hp ?and on a stock t2 with just this mod for now would the stock clutch hold ?

Max HP of an 8valve motor is NOT 400, ask Gary and others.
Max boost will not be before 3,000 rpm either. (based on real world experiences throughout the TD world)

Ask yourself what your goals are.
1) How fast do you want to go?
2) What are you doing with the car? Drag, or street?
3) How much boost do you want to run, seriously and safely.

+1 Tell us what your goals are, and we could point you in the right direction.

You said "+1", I was thinking that meant you agreed with what I wrote and were leaving rep points. By clicking on the little icon under my name, you can do just that.

Well I want to build a street drivable car that will have minable lag in use less than wot IE I don't want a turd leaveing a stop light BUT with that said I want to go as fast as posable with out crossing that line if that makes sence. I know 12's are doable but what about faster?

If some of you remember Neofest last year in Ohio Mr vette and friends have all bought faster cars so I want to step it up more (if possable). As well As I run my own repair shop here in town so I would like to put my name out with this.

Here is what I was thinking for my setup. I like to plan all of it then work at it a peice at a time. If followed to a T, ABOUT what are the straight line (qtr) results?
Engine
2.5 common block
polished and some port to head
venolas

Exhaust
TU header
hybrid? open on this one
3in swingvalve
3 in exhaust with DP (maybe side exit maybe full)

Intercooler
Speerco from TU the one with ports on same side

Trans
Stock a520 with crome moly mid plate
clutch (open to sugg on this to)
+40's
and matching maf and comp OR megasquirt

I would like 400hp by 2800-3000 but I am still new so I am not how or if it can be done.

Oh and the car is 87 csx 573 full interior except maybe the back seat

Oh and I would like to stay at 20 or les in race trim and about 14-15 on the street
I dont see why a hybrid wont hit full boost under 3,000 RPMs...my mitsu hits full boost at 2,100 RPMs.

Max HP for an 8v can be close to 400 HP. Read what I said thoroughly before shooting me down, buddy. BlueIrocR/T's son is building up an 8v Daytona, Cindy tells them they should be close to 400 hp on their Super 70 turbo...Buckeye will even have a better turbo. So are you trying to tell me Cindy is wrong?

Because of his head flow.

He is talking about a hybrid turbo, you need to go back and read everything.
Sure, he can get close to 400hp, but that is FAR from the max of an 8valve motor, just ask anyone of the people who have produced more than that.

Perhaps what you are talking about is the max for his turbo? and not really talking about the 8valve motor.
Agreed on the spool. I have a menagon head with a hybrid, I dont get full spool until 3600 at best. And on the dyno, with a thumb sized hole in a boost elbow, it took to 4600 RPM to spool it.

As for the turbo, it is going to be a trade off. You cant spool it up at 2200RPm and put down 400HP. Granted I have not had my shadow dyno tuned, but I dont hit full boost with my stock head until between 3 and 4K with a .63 on a TII.

As for the clutch, I have a 4 puck ceramic disk and HD PP from cindy. I am very pleased with it and it should be able to hold the HP goals for my car. That will probably be the ultimate consideration when you choose that too.

In the end it will all come down to how fast you want to go, and how much you want to spend. As cleche as it is, it hold true every time.
