Ok I am trying to get my hands on an intake cam and I have found someone who will sell me it but they are out of the head and they are not sure which one is which??? I doubt the have the cam gears on still either so that wouldn't help. Anyone??? Pics would be great too!!!

It's opposite of the cam gear on the right side. When you slide the cams into the head, there is a thrust plate that slides in those groves on the end of the cam to keep them in. like Jackson said, the intake cam has a wider slot than the exhaust.

I had heard that you can convert an exhaust cam into an intake cam by machining out that thrust plate groove. Any reason why that wouldn't work? Might have to machine a new woodruff groove in the nose of the cam right?

Just pure hearsay, never done it...
