I have a 1983 dodge omni 2.2l N/A Automatic and I always wanted to make it a 5 speed ever since I owned it. I have found a donor car that the owner said came running when parked in the yard. I was wonder how could I remove the transmission fast in the yard without a engine lift. Also what all would I need from the plymouth donor car for the swap.

Here is the donor car:1986 plymouth horizon manual

Fast and safe always go together. If you are putting body parts into tight spaces next to unstable heavy objects include injury recovery time in your definition of fast.

Lifting is best. The transaxel is not that heavy. Lift straight down and do a shake test - same as lifting car to change wheels. Leave yourself a way to back up one step and look for a another way of going.
