Anyone out there have a 2.6l equipped k car ? Running or not. Don't care if the floors are rusty. Sedan or wago (will pay extra if it is a wagon). On the way back from novi, I observed an early 80's sedan at a Mobil station. Stopped and talked to owner and joked about the hemi badging on the car. Looked at the motor and was shocked there was a 2.6l with the carb and all!!! Asked if it might be for sale, offered 2000, said no, was a retirement gift from his wife..

So i turn to the community...

It'd be nice to find one. As long as the car is complete, i can do the floors and I've got enough spare parts to build one from scratch. I saw a posting for a 400 but i missed the boat on that one....

there's a reason they're scarce

2.6= timeing chain - a really long one and interferance motor

they had a nasty rep for bad timeing chains that basically make them throw away motors

BUT those cars had a really nice rad set up

the rad was slightly wider than say an 86 T1 motor's rad - you would need to drill a new hole at the top bracket on the pass side
(there's provided space for the extra hole)

they had a nice full cover rad plastic rad shroud with the fan set to the driver's side and 3 louver doors on the pass side

the rads were still gasket flange aluminum crap of the day but if you found a recient replacement one in the wreakers you just scored

I needed only a short piece of metal vacume cleaner tubeing from a 70's canister vac to make the upper rad hose longer in the middle

with the full plastic shroud it looks more like it belongs with all the other engine compartment plastic cover / dressing stuff than the
2.2 /2.5 fans ever could too

won't fit with o-e intercooler but it would with a front mount and the i-c pipes run through holes cut in the rad cradle - nicely too
