mopar computer vs. stage -- computers

What I don't understand is how all these so called "stage --" computers run so poorly at the track. Exactly what do the different stages do anyway. I am not saying all of them but I see owners with 18psi. and up on the boost and are running poor mph's at the track. What ever happend to the mopar computers? Ran [email protected] on street tires (mopar computer) and 14 lbs. of boost w/ exhaust, filter and a three angle valve job. I don't think that is great but considering some owners are running 20psi. and up and are only running similar times.
How much time are you guys and girls spending on tune and track time?

my mopar computer ran really rich, i dont think it had any o2 feedback, but it did run really smooth, put the stocker back in and it runs really ruff now. Cant say it went any faster with the mp comp, never took it to the track, and i pretty much bypassed what it was supposed to do, upping boost, with a boost controller.
I never did any back to back test w/ the m.p. computer. I don't think they are that great at all, just curious how some people are running 20psi. plus and the mph is so low. Maybe altitude, tuning, poor calibration, ect. Not sure, just wanted some input.
Maybe some with traction issues. :/ I think the MP computers were just as good as anything anyone is making now. I'd like to get my hands on a nice custom edited Super 60 computer myself. (if there is such a thing that is. :D)

Mike, The GLHS Stage II is about the best MP computer out there. Fuel mileage goes up, it can handle +20's with ease and pass emissions. The Actual mopar MP's had O2 feedback turned off at idle.

Yhe only reason to get a different calibration is big boost ant big injectors.

mmm, maybe thats why my gauge pegged full rich at idle, i was having bad gas mileage, i thought the mp computer was the culprit, so i swapped the stocker back in and its gonna be about the same gas mileage, and the stocker runs horrible at idle, the mp comp run really smooth. does anyone know what the 88 t1 mp comp runs for boost, i'm thinkin ditch the boost controller, stick in an intercooler, better exhaust and the mp unit should run 12psi, right were i want it
