when i start my car in cold it makes a high pitch whistle and stays on till i hit the throttle, and then returns when let off gas. what is this sound? any answers.
Well, it's gonna be either in the intake or exhaust, probably intake. Should be pretty easy to locate. Have you started it with the hood up and listened?
pop the hood, found the loudest point of the whistle and you probably have it! Im guessing alternator... When they start going bad they are loud as hecks!
Check the gasket between the throttle body and intake. If it leaks, it can make a high pitched squeal that will go away if you open the throttle. If it is there, may sure the body isn't warped.
