Here you go:

Note: Washers are stacked like this: )()()( I don't think it matters which direction the thin/thick gear go in. I put the thick one on the top because uncompressed it will stay in the center better.

I bought a bunch of replacements that should be in this week let me know if you need a set $15 shipped. The ones I ordered are real belleville washers so they shouldn't have the same cracking problems as the ones that come with the OBX. I will take side by side pictures when I get them and get my diff back from having the axle hole honed out.

I'am trying to find juggy, will someone put me in touch with him. Thank you.Errol
WTF? Ummmm, who's Juggy? If your looking for a 520, then the Want to buy section is probably better than a thread about fixing issues with an obx.

Glad to hear that you like them. It actually is a pain to get them. The stock size just isn't available except in bulk from the supplier... I had to order way too many of them in order to get a decent deal. So I am just selling them to recover costs and make sure everyone gets a quality set at a reasonable price.

The newer ones come with 5 and are stacked )()().

The best way to do it is to ignore how they came and check the actual compression amount of the washers. They need to compress between 25-75% for best results. The higher compression percentages will add more pressure because the springs are not fully linear.

They are 2.15mm each and mine are 1.5mm thick. That means there is .65mm of compresson for each washer stacked in series.

50% compression on 5 washers in series would be (5*.65)/2 =1.625mm and 25% compression would be (5*.65)/2 = .8125.

The bolts have a 1.25mm per turn pitch so you want to get around 3/4 to 1 1/4 turns on the bolts from the time the washers start to compress to when the bolts are fully torqued at around 25ft*lbs.

So if that takes 5 washers stacked )()() then you are good. If it is too loose then you can add a parallel stacked washer that isn't compressed but acts as a spacer as )()()) to add .65mm (about half a turn) to the previous calculatoin.

Or for even more spacing you can stack them )()()( of course then you have 6 washers that are compressing in series instead of 5 so you need to calculate it as (6*.65)/2 = 1.95mm for 50% compression so you need more compression for the extra washer stacked in series.

One of those three configurations (probably the first) will give you the correct preload for the current neon differential.
