Hello, I am not the most car savvy, and I think my egr valve is clogged, I know I need to remove it, and clean it, but I can't find it. Where is it located within the engine bay of the 1983 dodge rampage? Just point me in the general direction, and I'll be fine, I hope to learn more about cars by working on this one, so any direction will help, don't want to take off the wrong thing.

The EGR valve is on the exhaust manifold. On the driver's side of the engine bay look underneath the carb which sits on the intake manifold which is over the exhaust manifold. Put plenty of penetrant on the nuts because they're probably rusted on good. Let it soak and soak then carefully try to remove them without breaking the studs. Be patient! You might want to soak them overnight...

One question that you can help me with: Does your Rampage have carpet on the panel under the back window? If it doesn't, does it have the jack instructions labels? If you look at some of the previous posts you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanks.

Didn't see any jacking instructions, the previous owner installed huge speakers and a nylon parts holder thing, but there is still carpet underneath it.

Hey, anyone know where to get the clips for the black metal trim that goes outside below the back window? A fellow member sold me the trim piece but I'm needing those clips...

I bought some rear window moulding clips from Altha Fastener back in 2012 for my '84 DC Rampage, the part number is: cp554582, and they are called "82-on Chrysler back panel moulding clip" they were $1.28 each then. I did a quick look on their site, but I couldn't find them, but at least you have a P/N to search...hope this helps.

Bigbarneycars gave me the name of that Vendor and gave them a call. Unfortunately they're all out of the clips. The guy called someone else he knew and still no luck. :frown2:

Mother Mopar made a running change on the '83 'Pages/Scamps on the 25th of January 1983 to the HOOD,FENDER, A-PILLER JUNCTION of those 3 parts. If you ever need fender replacements for your '83 you'll need the build date of your Trucklet before you go shopping. BEFORE'S + AFTERS WILL NOT INTERCHANGE. John are you sure the hood is different??

I know the junction is different but thought the hoods could interchange.

The back panel behind the seats. Most had carpet from the tray up to the trim piece underneath the window.

BigBarneyCars is saying that things changed in Jan '83. The Parts Catalog is showing a different part number for hoods effective April 8, 1983...
I just bought a hood from a junkyard. It's from an '83 L-body 2 door. Had him send me pics before I committed to it. It looks the same as my original. Hope I'm Right! :|

FYI if anyone still has their VIN placard under the hood, the month/day is stamped on the second line from the bottom and is the fourth sequence (out of 5) of digits...

I found out about the fenders the hard way years ago!!

But I thought the hoods interchanged.

What I'm up to is putting a S/C Turbo hood and nose on my 84.

I know that works but someone 7 hrs away needs a hood and nose for a 1982.

I told him my 1984 nose and hood would fit but now you have me worried!!

Don't want him to drive all that way for nothing.

I'm working on recreating my old Rampage that I regrettably sold.

Sooo are your jack instructions labels are on the inside or outside of the jack cover???

Didn't have a jack cover when I got my Rampage but the labels were stuck on the back panel...

Labels are on the inside of the jack cover.

Carpet goes on the back panel up to and I think behind a plastic under the window.

Mine has brown/tan seats with moveable headrests.

Ok, that clarifies things. I was wondering where the labels would be located if there was carpet on the panel. Makes no sense to cover them up. No one else has labels on the panels, at least what I've found out so far.

Not too many pics of the behind-the-seats area. All that I've seen have had carpet on the panel except for one and that one looks like it's been repainted. Perhaps the Corp of Engineers stripped out the back to make room for their equipment. Or it came that way since it was a special order for them. I still have their specially made toolbox that's sitting in the back of the bed.

I would think that the carpet was standard in the trucklets. No carpet and that sheet metal would be dang cold in the winter and a roasting grill in the summer!

I have obtained two jack covers but no labels in either one. Could be that they've simply fallen out. Maybe they should have used butyl rubber for the labels instead of the windshield!

I'm leaning towards reinstalling the carpet and moving the labels to where you said, inside the jack cover.

My labels seem to be falling off as they probably don't stick to "cloth" very well.

It's a wonder they're still there.
