i just put on an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. when i put it on though, i noticed on the front of the engine, theres the silver piece with what i assume to be a mechanical gauge metal line coming off it, and then another thing coming off with wires, sending unit? at the end of the silver piece theres a screw cap. i unscrewed the cap, and put the sending unit for my new gauge on the end of this silver part and didnt touch the other two. would the line for the other gauge or the electrical bit affect my new gauges reading? also, whats a typical idle oil pressure for a 1991 2.5l turbo?

thank you for your time

You put the gauge in the right place. Won't be affected or effect the other gauge readings.
Typical pressure at cold idle would be in the (50+)psi rang ... hot will be around (25)psi in a healthy engine. (Chrysler spec calls for no less than (4)psi at idle)
