can any one tell me if there is an oil pump gasket ? i took it apart bout month ago and cant remember if it had one

no but it should have some sealer - not silicone , but the correct name eludes ma at the moment sorry

if there is no gasket, you need to at least use RTV to prevent oil pressure leaks, thats why theres a oring on the oil pump pickup to pump

The Haynes manual incorrectly specifies the use of RTV silicone as the gasket whereas the factory service manual advocates the use of Loctite 515 gasket maker a.k.a. anaerobic sealant; it's used for machined surfaces with tolerances of 0.015" or less. It cures in the absence of oxygen. (Also known as flange sealant or bed plate sealant to the Neon guys.)
