im looking to buy a 1985 Omni GLH as a first project car, and im curious where to get parts for these. Do they even make new parts for these? or do i have to look for NOS parts?

Depends on the part honestly, . There are a few vendors for our cars, Turbos Unleashed, FWD Performance, Turbododgeparts.com, and Forward Motion. Keep an eye on the for sale section on this forum and turbomopar.com. Keep an eye on Ebay for used and nos parts
As stated above, it all depends on the part you are looking for.
We also have some extremely knowledgeable L-Body experts on site.

You can check out Mopar Online Parts if you're looking for high quality mopar parts.
Having a heck of a time finding parts for my new project (88 Lebaron convertible T1). Stuff just isn't available. I have a rod knock and I can't find a refurb crank. Found some places online that say they have it but then when I call them they say no actually we don't.
Call Cindy at FwdPerformance, website says they have it, but you better call and ask.

86-88 is what you're looking for. 85 used a 6 bolt crank, otherwise it would interchange. In 87-88 the TII (intercooled) engines used a forged steel crank that is also interchangeable with your application. Why can't you just remove yours and have that machined? It is very common to do so. Bearings other than std/std size are as common as standard sized bearings.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I may have to do that. Was told by the local machine shop they are weeks away from being able to take on any new work. Apparently business is good at the moment.

It's not just that though. Couldn't find a power steering pump - had to jb weld my old one. Window regulator for rear quarter window... Forget it. Had to rewind the cable spool with the frayed wire. Reman head (mine had a crack).. did find one locally finally but was like a needle in a haystack.

Oh need an oil pan too but I think mine is really rare. I see them all over with the shorter well but mines the tall one.

Was just commenting on ability to find parts in general. Still committed to this project. Really like the car. At least it runs now (doa when I got it). Would have preferred a basic reman engine I could just plop in but those also seem to be not available.

Anyway I should say thanks for all the info I have gleaned from this forum. Been reading a bunch off of here lately. Glad you guys are around and what a great resource!
