Performance Cams

Howdy all....

Just got myself a 'new' 87 Omni.....Yumm....Carburated....

But, here's the deal, I'm putting in another block (refreshed 89 cb, mild head work, higher compression) and I'm researching cams. Are there any performance camshafts made for a roller setup??? I know there are earlier cams available (more than likely for a slider setup) but is ther anything besides getting a custom grind done?? I do have the offset cam timing keys, and they will be put to use, but anything else??

Thanks,

Dom

I've been working on doing the same thing. Right now I plan on just using an '88 tbi cam. Taft makes some roller cams but they seem fairly mild to me and kind of pricey considering what would be a very small gain.
plus, you start getting a wild cam and you have to run an electric pump to help your power brake booster 'cause the engine ain't making enough vacuum otherwise!
Pm me with your details, I have a local cam grinder who can do anything you want, I can get his number tomorrow for you, :D
Thanks Simon,

I was actually hoping to find a manufacturer who has N/A cams available.....I might get a hold of you for that number....

Another question: Is there any difference in running an 89 TBI cam compared to any other factory TBI roller cam??? Are there any noticeable differences in lift and duration between the factory cams???

Thanks....

He does have N/A cams, he makes them when you call, lol!

The TBI cam specs have been brought up lots, search in the induction section but the 88 TBI is the biggest factory roller.

www.thedodgegarage.com and allpar or alpar have some more specs!
