hey guys i recently picked up a spirit r/t several months and it ran good! The only thing not stock is the open DP. it made a difference, so i finaly put a 180 tstat new oil pan gasket and remove the blance shaft chain and switch to mobil one synthetic. After the work was done went for a ride and it definitely seems more sluggish. for instant i drop 3rd felt sluggish till about 5800 and all of a sudden pulled hard till 6500. Now it doesnt do that at all. sluggish all thru the power band. Any ideas?

oh yea i hear the turbo spool make boost and blow off like normal. but i dont have boost gauge to see what its doing. before it def ran like it was on 11 or 12 psi.

update. redid all the vacuum lines. still the same thing. so waiting to get a boost gauge to see if its doing the stock 11 psi.

I just redid vac lines yesterday now i am smoking , i run open dp also and car felt different after that mod

Did you have the timing belt off?

well i put a boost gauge on it and its only doing 5psi. i did nothing to the car for it to be at 5psi.

nope i didnt take the timing belt off. i put in a 180 tstat new oil pan gasket, remove balance shaft chain and put in mobil 1 synthetic oil...but the head is brand new and looks to have a newer Tbelt on it.

Had a similar situation, air filter got clogged from the hood insulation only went to 6lbs

well its not the filter! still 5 psi.. i have wastegate hooked up to the turbo nipple.. so i took the hose off the WG and it goes to 9psi but breaks up? should the turbo keep spooling? help plz...

check the wastegate arm and make sure its not jammed up

well i checked it i grabbed the arm and moved it. i took the intercooler off and still 5-7 psi so that eliminates that!..what about a cracked turbo houseing? like i said before it was running really well and all of a sudden 5psi.

Air leak between IC and Intake would be my guess then.

already checked all hoses, bov, and intercooler.

what about intake gasket? cuz when i unhooked the wasgate vac. the blow off valve got louder than i ever herd but only seen 8psi.
