Hello all,
I'm getting to the brakes on my '87 Daytona Shelby Z and I'm running into a bit of a snag. When I was ordering brake parts, I was only able to get a replacement rear caliper for one side of the car. The other side wasn't available. I tried using a custom rebuild service through NAPA but they couldn't find anyone willing to do a professional rebuild. But they had rebuild kits, so I decided to do it myself.
I've got it all apart, but I need to hone the bore and there's a mechanism in the bottom of the bore. I assume it's for parking brake indexing? Does anyone know how I can get it out? I have a drum brake hone I can borrow.
Again, while it would be easier to buy a replacement, I cant find one thats available.
Has anyone else done this? The FSM says "replace as a unit" so it hasn't been much help in this case.
Thanks,
Isaak

I have done this and the internal ratchet parking brake screws out.
I have this documented on Turbo-Mopar.com and will see if I can find the link.

If you can find that, it would be super helpful.
So I could take some long nose pliers and screw that whole assembly out?
