New to the forum so pardon my manners if I don’t do this right.
The box/ relay that controls the pop up lights located below the radio. What is the proper name for it? When it heats up outside the wax inside of it leaks on my carpet and is tough to clean. Any solutions or help in anyway with this is appreciated.

This is known as the Headlight Control Module. from 1987-1989 they were located in the center of the dash above the traveler/top cubby. In 1990 the design changed and was moved down by the fuse box (they are NOT interchangeable). In 1991 the control of the headlight motors was taken over by the BCM.

There's a "How To" thread on these forums about how to fix the HCM if the motors stop working.

As for the "goop" (aka potting material), thus far there's not been a lot that has gotten it out. Goo Gone seems to work fairly well. It is toxic, so don't eat it or breathe in fumes if you burn it.
