Going to run 3" side exit exhaust on my GLHS and would like to see some pictures that people have so i can show the guy thats doing it, exactly or as close to what i want, anyone have any on hand they can post up?

Here is some before and after of mine, before it was 2.5" no cat and rattled like crazy and sounded pretty unhealthy for what reason i dont know, now with the 3" with a 16" cat is sounds excellent, very clean and crisp. from what i can feel, i think the small amount of back pressure that the cat provides helps the turbo spool faster and keeps it spooling better, not as much lag between shifts.

my turismo has side exit exhaust, i have to find a pic of it or just take a new one
here's a good vid of a 4 inch that was posted a while back.

I think the idea is as simple as buying your piping of choice and then do a 90 turn in front of the rear axle in your preferred direction.
Ah here you go:

i like this a lot, looks like some quality work, im going more for the angled out the side, kind of like the old school muscles do, when they do the side exit, slanted but flowing with the body.
you want it to get to at least the side of the body. Exiting under the car will make it very loud inside.
it will, it will go all the way to the end of the body, im going to remove the side skirt, and cut it to fit it. more or less so it looks like it was factory installed that way. there was a garnet red SC at mopars at the strip 2 years ago that had it, looked super sexy
Instead of a turndown I welded on a 45 degree piece and aimed it twards the outside of the wheel.
You can barely see it outside the car.
I'll see if I have pics.
if you stick it out past the side ground effects the exhaust doesn't drone in the car. I have 3" on my GLHS and at 100 MPH we can all talk in the car, the CSX has it exit under the car at the rear bumper with 2.5" and it is really noisy. Something about trapping the exhaust in the pocket under or behind the car that causes issues.
Consider this approach. Get a Y-cutout 3 inch exhaust from FWDPerformance.com and you can select steet legal, and race! Go to their website asd do a search for

this isnt a race car nor will it ever be, but that would definitely be something to consider if it was for sure! thanks

Boostgeek gets the best sounding exhaust award for sure.

I would like to hear SHADOW's exhaust at idle with a F4 cam, and I'd like to hear a R2+ TU cam too at idle.
nice, im getting it done as we speak and i removed the side skirt to get it as up there as possible, but half the clips broke, does anyone know where i can get those clips at the small gray ones that look like they are single use?

Doing a slanting side exit seems difficult because you have the rear floorpans in the way.
well when we had it on the lift, it seems like it will work out no sweat, guess well se how it goes.
Well since someone posted a daytona 1st I'll post a link to mine. Camphone6

The thing is if you can get a rear exit not to hit the spring and gas tank then it's really the best way to go or maybe I'm just getting old. Went down to my old haunts in SoCal back in 06 with 3" side exit straight pipe which didn't seem that loud up here in Wa state. But down there you could hear it echo off things for at least a mile away. Took a buddy out around the hills like we did in High School and attracted the attention of 5 Orange County Sheriff officers. I'm sure the neighbors in their multi-million dollar homes were calling them. Thankfully we were done and just in cruise mode coming down at 1000rpms when the 1st one went by. By the time he realized it was us and tried turning around he was already at a corner and had to do like a 4 point turn to get that big crown vic around. I made an immediate left turn on a street that went back to my dads and rolled on it in 5th which with a 2.5 get's you going even from idle. Made another left turn at the end of my block and then a couple houses up was my destination. My little brother who was awake with his window open said he could hear us the hole time. After that I realized I need to have rear exit with a muffler. Thankfully a magnaflow flows like straight pipe but keeps the noise down. No reason not to run a muffler and rear exit.
