I HAVE A 88 DAKOTA. 3.9 HAS NEW PLUGS, FUEL PUMP, EGR, DISTRIBUTOR, HALL EFFECT, WIRES, AND IT RUNS BAD. ON QUICK THROTTLE IT HESITATES, THEN GOES, ON HILLS IT STARTS PINGING, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.:bang head
Pinging (Detonation) is caused by numerous things.
Carbon Buildup or Deposits on Valves,Pistons or in Combustion Chamber.
Advanced Ignition Timing.
Spark Plug Heat Range Too Hot or Plug Deposits.
Lean Fuel Mixture
Malfunctioning EGR System
Cooling System Malfunction or Deposits in the Water Jacket Creating Hot Spots.
Low Octane Fuel
