Been searching but haven't seen anyone try this...

Got a rotted 86 E body Lebaron T1 vert and a nice 88 K body Reliant that needs a Turbo swap.

I heard the bulkhead is the same and the LM is run off a separate plug from the engine harness So is the 86 LM harness plug and run with a 88 K car?

I have pile of LM's and need it to run same day. Don't have a shop to let it sit for months playing with wiring...

Two items, (1) the 88 will not have the wiring for the LM/PM system (2) the 88 probably doesn't even have the hole on the right side behind the shock tower for the LM harness and MAP sensor line to pass through.

LM to PM harness is part of the front end harness and runs across the firewall with the previously mentioned penetration on the right side. This ends up in front of the HVAC case air inlet portion. If you do have the large hole with a rubber plug in it then the job is easier. If all that is good to go, the next item is the 50 way bulkhead connector on the left side. You will need the pinouts for both, and the fastest way to make them match if needed, will be to rearrange the ones in the LeBaron harness to match the Reliant one.

Good luck with it!

Final update on this thread

Pinouts were identical

It worked flawless no codes either.
Plugged in the entire 86 harness
Car Vehicle Hood Light Motor vehicle

Started right up on the Tbi fuel pump somehow.

If anyone wants to Turbo a Smec (or 86 up?) K car grab a 86 Lebaron/600/New Yorker T1 harness+distributor+all sensors and its plug and run even the headlights and turn signals plug right in. (K cars use 3 pin headlight plug E body has extra plug for side marker and 2nd high beam u don't need) wipers work and horn also.

Only issue is where to put the LM?
if there's no hole to put it inside going to mount it in a shielded bag under the hood. Tons of room on the passenger side.

I held off on this project due to dozens of threads where people tried a Tbi to Turbo swap and it was a wiring nightmare car sat for months/years etc. This was a weekend project including swapping the head/manifolds and its to the point I can drive it around.

There should be a spot on the right side behind the kick panel. LM resided there. Later models have the BCM in that location so the cavity may be there.

That's a different problem. The hole was there from 1983 through 1987, then vanished. If you have the harness with the large grommet you can probably find either a center dimple, or possibly even an outline of the location from inside the car, it ends up being in front of the HVAC fresh air inlet on the firewall.
