Some of the ways to prevent your wastegate actuator arm from becoming disconnected from the swing valve;
1)....Go to napa and get a replacement E clip not a C. Part # is 7/32 E clip.
2)....Some folks on here tyewrap them together.
3)....Some have used SAFETY-WIRE to wrap around it.

.l.....................Just thought I'd pass along the info. If you have more suggestions please posted them.

Thanks and from Chris, tie some fishing line on it before it goes flying the first time.
hope the string don't melt

Fishing line is for installing the clip. :bash: Not a permanent fix.
Never heard of the fishing line trick.
Cut the post off of the flapper arm that the S/V actuator connects to. Weld a small threaded stud on it. Slide the arm onto it and zip on a locknut. easiest done while the head is off, the only "easy" car to install e-clips on are log cars, imagine a locknut!
Must be nice to know how to weld
OOOO, I like that one!:thumb:

I like the welded stud idea--hadn't thought of that before.

Ever since I got my car, I've just ran an r/c car body clip on there. It hasn't given me any trouble and it's easy to remove and reinstall. I just got one that fit tight in the groove. I'm sure a large and/or flimsy one wouldn't work, though.
