Spirit R/T e85

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First time for the R/T to the track with e85 for fuel.

Dragway 42 cold evening 43 degrees cloudy (cold track) ended up getting rained out.
But I was able to get a couple runs in.

15# boost best
2.06
5.71
8.19
8.74
82.87mph
11.19
13.35
106.59 mph(107.09 best mph on 15#)

20# boost best
2.09
5.76
8.13
8.64
87.02 mph
11.08
13.15
111.93 mph (almost 112mph )

Cold track no traction.
Spitit R/T daily driver t3/t4 50 trim stg 2 full 3" exhaust, 255lpm, +40 @ 70psi base fp, stg 3 fwd cal, slicks and e85

Some knock on 20# of boost though, got rained out before I could make any adjustments.

Fun evening though, raced a full size quad cab 4x4 Ram with an sts turbo that was cool. ([email protected])

Yeah but to me it seems like an off the shelf cal , not specific for E85 as seen by the 70psi base pressure. Is the fuel pressure holding? I think your at the limits of that fuel pump on at those pressures

Yes just FWDP shelf cal.
Fp gauge is only under the hood, used to set base.

Thanks for the link,.
I was suspecting that I might not be able to move enough fuel for e85, at thigher boost levels.
Using that chart and estimating my [email protected] I am coming up short.

Pretty good times I hope my 8valve responds to an increase in boost like yours did, I ran 106 mph with 18 psi turning up to 25 i hope it will go 112.
you could probobly put some 72# injectors to good use on that engine as you are on the edge of those 52# inj for sure.

I could never mph as good in my 8 valve cars, with this same turbo.

Sounds like you are doing well at 18 and mph 106.

Are you getting a lot of wheel spin past the 60' because your 1/8 mph seems a lil low and then you gain 25 mph in the last 1/8 where mine only gains about 16-17 mph. I run 87 to 88 mph hour consistantly in the 1/8 and I was just puzzled by that top end gain that thing is pullin hard on the top end.

Im gonna have to drive around and see if i can find some e85 around here, Meijer was supposed to have it. How much are they chargin for it down by you ?

I never really got a good launch, always spun some, plus I lift to shift and shift pretty slow at that (had issues last year with shifter cables, so I'm Little shift shy :()

In my Shadow with this turbo, I would usually get 20-21 mph gain, for last half of track, but would get 8.3's in the eighth.

E85 was $3.34 last fill up. E85 Prices

You need almost twice the fuel for E85. Use 2 walbro pumps in parallel and 70 or 80 lb injectors with base pressure of 45 to 50.
