It is easier to clean with the throttle body off of the car.
Loosen the 2 AIS screws(T-25) before removing the TB.
***If they are tight use a micro torch to heat the area around the screws which will loosen the factory loctite.
you should have a new gasket on hand.
***Should your screws get damaged/broken/rounded you can get hex head screws at your local hardware/parts store, they are 5mm x .08.
***The AIS screws are about 3/4" and the TPS screws are about a 1/2" longer.
1)Remove TPS/AIS electrical connectors.
2)Remove vacuum lines and 2 throttle cables.
3)Loosen AIS screws.
4)Remove 2 nuts holding TB to manifold and remove TB.
5)Remove AIS from throttle body.
Using throttle body cleaner and a soft toothbrush clean all carbon from the TB housing, throttle plate, AIS Bore in TB and AIS Pintle(shaft on AIS)
6)Re-assemble and re-install on car.
7)Be sure the PCV System is operating properly, vacuum to valve, valve not clogged, hoses not split/collapsed.soft/swollen.

Checking Base Idle
1)With all of the above done start the vehicle and allow to warm to operating temp.
2)With the engine running slowly disconnect the large vacuum hose going to the brake booster.
3)The idle speed will increase when the hose is disconnected, allow the car to run this way for 60 seconds.
4)With the engine still running and the vacuum line disconnected disconnect the AIS electrical connector.
5)With engine still running and AIS disconnected re-connect the brake booster vacuum line.
6)The engine is now running at base idle(minimum throttle plate opening) with no AIS control.
7)Once base idle has been verified to be correct or corrected shut the car off and then reconnect the AIS electrical connector.
DO NOT reconnect the AIS with the engine running.
8)Turn the key on, then off then start the car and the AIS and controller will be synced.

Be aware that base idle will be affected by a vacuum leak elsewhere in the system.

hey, my idle is roughly at 1k .... would this possibly help to do the above steps??

TB/AIS cleaning should be part of your normal maintenance routine, how often depends on how many miles you drive, easy enough to physically look at the throttle plate to see if there are signs of carbon.
1K RPM @ idle with AIS control is where my vehicle idles, normal to me.
