So whats the "to-do" list on it?

I hope you leave it painted red.
Let me know when you start to part out the black one... does it have the light or dark gray interior?
Both cars are dark gray interiors, well diff types, my black had the premium cloth and all power. this car has just regular cloth. diff look. The car is gonna be painted black, i hate red, to me its ugly. I just bought a few needed tools and a good jack and stands all i really need now is a motor lift to borrrow
SO was it a r/t iroc you have? or just base iroc? or something else?
Iroc R/T, and the replacement is a Iroc R/T same yr but Red
Well mine has the light gray cloth interor .....with a sort of checkerboard pattern.
Its got just about every option except leather and a sun roof.

Does any body have a breakdown of what cars were built with what options?
How many were heavly optioned ?
How many were were built with the minimum options?
dunno, my black is the checkerboard style, the red is the crappy material, thats why the black is donating the interior. i consider mine dark gray, but i never saw a light one so i really dont know
Thanks for the buisness Tom and good luck with the swap.

Klee, I saw something on the web quite awhile (several years) ago with somewhat of a break down on options. I couldn't begin to find it again though.
Well if your gonna paint it why not chose a factory color that was not availible on daytonas?
What about one of the new viper colors?
viper yellow ?
Viper silver ?

Or maybe another color either custom or factory from another brand.

I think the silver would look sharp on a gen 3 daytona :thumb:

Silver with black front rams head , rear dodge/rams head and iroc r/t decals .
Oh and while your at it the valve covers and air cleaner duct wrinkle black or maybe a dark gray instead of red.
Silver would go great with the factory wheels with the stock gray inserts and machined alum finish or even better stock gray inserts with the machined finish polished . :D
That would give it a "factory" look thats not really "factory"

I guess what i'm getting at if you are not going to leave it the factory color why stick with black because your color choices are wide open.

I had a listing of the break-down and seem to have lost it. I owned a black '92 Iroc R/T at one point and had the production break-down. That car had the light quartz all-power leather with the hinged sunroof. From what I remember there was like 60+ black cars produced with the leather in light quartz with all power and the hinged sunroof. Not too many.
i just want what i had back, in all reality, a replacement for what happened from poor driving. if i paint it other than factory, its never gonna be a Iroc R/T again in my mind. i love my black one, and since this car needs a few body pieces also, it will end up being half black before its complete anyways, so might as well go with the flow.

What makes an R/T what it is has nothing to do with the color in the end.

You want black...stick with that. :thumb:
go to auto-enthusiast.com you can find the breakdown there.
Well just an update: Car has gotten complete wiring harness, computer, and ABS controller into it. This was the hard part, removing it from my car to put into this one. In the process, i removed the seats from my black car to put into this one. I dropped the 3in exhaust off of the black one and it will go up on the red one. I swapped ninjas to the back of the red car. Looking at swapping, doors, hatch and door cladding shortly. then the motor and trans will have to go in when i get a lift. its coming along nicely, trying to have it driveable for Carlisle. 3 weeks and a little more left to do it in
Glad to see that something good is coming of this. An RT for an RT, seems like a fair trade. Would be kind of hard feeling bad about destroying one, when rusurrecting another in its place. Keep up the good work.
Well i figure this one was riced out and looked like it wanted to be put to good use, in the hands of the right person it would have been good complete, but since mine met its untimely death, this car lent its drivetrain to someone else and my car is lending it's to this one. It will be a respectable car when its done, definately. I got the hatch off my black on onto it today, and replaced the truck lock. I only swapped hatches to save repalcing a window seal, rear wing(studs, nuts stripped) and what most likely was gonna be a rusted out inside because of the water getting into it. I have a working trunk lock now so thats a plus. a lot of time for a little amount accomplished today.
Hey, its the little deatails that count, and make/break the car in the end.
