I now i need to maybe change my turn signal Switch, on my 86 Daytona.
Problem began with no turn signal, end my CC switch also is shot.

Main problem: The huge plastic (one-piece) oN upper column seems to be pulled off form the top.

But how do i get it loosE FROM THE KEY-LOCK?
What do i do when ive got this far?

I quess im to much of an optimist if i ask for any pictures.
And note: Haynes does not recomment this job done privatly.
Hw difficult is it to do this job?

turn signal switch is easy
all you really need is the new switch and a steering wheel puller

it's right below the steering wheel .. that's all that need come off besides the turn sig stalk as you'll need to attach it to the new switch

Thank you
- but can i really move the old switch, without pulling the huge terrible plastic covers?

yep
just remove the steering wheel,
the two screws holding the stalk to the switch
and the three or four screws holding the switch to the column housing

pull the end of the wiring out of the column and reinstall wiring section attached to new switch

I am a little late to the party but if you are still having issues...
Your vehicle uses a GM Saginaw Steering Column...

Tilt Steering Column - Super Chevy Magazine
The job was not easy, thou the switch is right below the steering wheel as said on the forum.
Actually i managed to break the whole column, even that was before i started the thred.
So many small parts fell apart, and i stupidly did not take photoes. This was a really set back on my loving hobby.
Luckely i had a spare column to install.
Then it came up that there was very much play on the tilt-system, so now i have to get a third column.
I can do any car job - but this is beyond my capability, i will never touch inside a column again.
So maybe you will know - what i compartable? 86-and 87? Is there a fixed type on the 86? Fixed on later models? What about the Le barons - do they fit?
