Would anyone be able to tell me where I can find the exhaust manifold to turbo flange gasket for a ‘89 CSX Turbo IV? Also, is there a gasket that should go between the turbo housing and the downpipe elbow, or how do I seal between those two?

Thanks for the help!

Chrysler didn't use anything and neither do I, same with head gaskets.

Many others use some form of magic in a bottle.

Thanks

just use a thick coat of wheel bearing grease,
but use a flat file to make sure the surfaces are nice and flat :)

Well that is interesting to know. Appreciate the info. Just any old bearing grease then for both the flange surfaces in my photo? I kept seeing T3 manifold to turbo gaskets, so that’s why I asked.

yes, well some other OE's decided they needed a gasket there ;)

won't fit our TD specific bolt pattern anyways

I think ChryCo went with a larger (than the standard Ford/Volvo/Saab/'universal'/... T3) flange (on the turbo <-> exh mani) to eliminate the gasket, and add some durability ..

I used nothing on all builds over the years and had no issues.

Thanks

I tend to agree with you on this point.

Still, some like to fix what isn't broken.

Thanks
Randy
