I am looking at buying 2002 dodge ram 2500 cummins turbo. When I turn the engine off I hear a loud squelch, I was told that it is the wastegate not closing. what would cause the wastegate to not close properly?
I am curious as to why you thought it was the wastegate. Does your check engine light come on? Sometimes that solenoid (I am told) will stick open or fail open which results in a loss of power. I have this problem and have been told that it could be carbon buildup because I drive like an old lady.
Yeah I think the noise is caused by the engine shutting down and the belt stops faster than the clutch fan can stop spinning
