I bought an Autometer water temp unit and it has a long probe that goes into the water neck. I test fit it in the top hole thats normally plugged and all was good to go, that is until I put the thermo in. It hits the thermo and will not go in all the way. I got to looking and it will fit just fine in the coolent temp sensors spot. The coolent temp sensor will fit just fine in the top hole where I first tried to put the AutoMeter one. You guys think it would work fine like that? I can't see where it would make a difference in the position of the sensor, the complete neck will be filled with coolent so I do not see any problems with false readings from it beeing in a pocket of air. Whats are your thoughts?

I just did this a short while ago, and everything is fine moving it (the factory sensor) to the top. I had to add a few inches of wire to the sensor, but no big deal. From what I read, it's really more like an on/off sensor, not high resolution, so not a big deal moving it.
