well im really considering making a glh-tiva.... i know its sacreligious and hopefully doesnt offend anyone but it would be a crazy stupid little torque monster and prob an easy 10 sec build. shelby power in a 1600lb car would be beast! this would be my way of bringing the two worlds together and combining my 2 favorite compact/sub-compact cars of all time! bbneon95 (kevin) lives close to me and is interested in the idea. i have posted the idea on the festiva forum and people are already excited and want rides some have said ill need to reenforce the frame because they are torquie little motors. one guy festiva guy said he will help do the swap but i dont completely beleive he will show up because he wouldnt even come to help me put the escort gt motor in one of my festiva. its just a thought at this point.
i have 2 t1 motors, a t-5 speed trans, and the axles, but i did sell the harness so i guess i would have to get a squirt or an e-manage. it looks like there is only about an inch to two inches difference in the wheel base but i need to confirm this. the motor is a few inches taller but on the tiva the intake comes over the top of the motor so the glh motor would sit higher than the current setup in the one tiva im thinking about throwing this in. i really want to do this but im far from a mechanic. i have only done 2 motor swaps in my life but there was verry little wiring, so this thought really intimidates me but i just really want to do it. i think ill start off with rebuilding one of the motors with the kit i have so i can get intimate with the motor and also if i decide its just too much to take on the swap i could at least sell a fresh motor. where do i find all the torque specs? also how can i make the wires and vac setup as simple as possible just the nessecary things to run strong (also it would look cleaner).
if the idea is not supported here and my help here will be limited then i think ill stay away from it
