I helped a friend this weekend pick up a black VNT he just bought here in VA. It's been owned by the same guy for a long while. The VNT turbo was pulled out because the turbo needs rebuilding, but it came with the car. Original engine, trans, and computer were being used with a Super 70 turbo. Not sure if the PO ever posted on here or not. Didn't think to ask him. I'll be helping him put it back together to be his new daily driver.
It sounds like this might be the car I now have in my possession. From what I gather it came from VA, it’s black, and in need of an engine. I’ve just sourced a VNT common block and I’ve also got an NOS VNT I plan to use. I hope to have it running by the end of the year.

If the 8th digit is a "C" then it is a "VNT". :thumb:

Alright. We are all home. The car is clean. Stock other than an aftermarket stereo head unit. According to the VIN this would be the 167th VNT built. Black, cloth grey interior.

Very Nice!!!
Three questions...
1)How can you tell the build # by the VIN?
2)Is that original paint?
3)Any underhood and interior pics?

Page 2 of this thread. You had actually asked the question of another member/poster. No engine pics yet. I'll get a couple later.

Oh, it's not original paint. It was re-shot the original/correct color by a shop in Minnesota 6 or 7 yrs back. I have a work order/ receipt for the paint job. I have receipts for everything ever done to it. ?

The discussion bringing up older pages in the thread has reminded me of a question I have had for a while. I got an info pack for my 1958 Plymouth Belvedere from the Chrysler Historical Archive in 2009. Are they still offering that service? Are they even there anymore, or did Fiat throw all the stuff in the trash?

I could not find anything recent online other than this was all started by a retired Chrysler employee and manned by volunteers so I do not think the Chrysler Corp actually has any hand in it.
You can try sending an e-mail, will you get a response with what is going on these days?
