I have an 84' Rampage, only mod is a weber 38. It has a small aircleaner bolted on top, and Im stick running the stock ecu. Since the ecu controls my spark via the air intake, would it be sending false codes and make it run badly? The timing seems to rise a few degrees, and occasionally Il hear a rpm drop and it runs like crap. Any advice on the mallory distributors that eliminate the stock computer?

yur air intake is not the problem;
the air provides cooling for the electrical components mounted in the intake duct,

many TDers bypass this, could be a problem in EXTREMELY HOT weather,
but otherwise no ...
