Sequencials finally in... flasher is slightly too fast so i'm going to get an electronic adjustable flasher to fix that quick and easy.


Light and hole that was modified to add thrid brake light


Cleaned up tail light harnesses


Added connectors to make the taillight harness still removable, if the sequencial system fails (it shouldn't) I just jump the first and third pin on the new connector and everything will be back to factory.






Sequencial Controller in place


Wire clean up over the wheel well, had to add 3 wires too for the EVA system


Got the radio working, antenna cable and all ground straps in place (all was missing) and all the speakers working now, jammin! Next step to get all the interior illumination working and fix up my hockey stick tabs with panel bond and wood moulds and vaseline.

Ah I see. Nice car you have yourself there. I'll be following this thread now.

In fact, I was at pull a part a week ago and found an 80s ram with the same steering wheel that the turbo z's had. I'm thinking about going back and getting it for my CS. Its not a 4 spoke but the other 3 spoke wheel.

if it's in good shape scoop it they are HARD to find being 1 year only

some k cars had em to but the center is silver instead of black

if ya don't want it someone will for sure buy it

Sorry lol I had mistaken it. Its not a 4 spoke :(, 3 spoke now that I remember. And yes those 4 spoke ones are damn hard to find. Im still thinking about getting this one over the one I have in the CS currently.

I seen a burgandy one in an early k-car once, that was before I knew what was what... I missed alot of good stuff junkyard surfing after highschool:bang head

Thanks Jake! The floor does have typical a small hole started by the e-brake, but everything else is rust free, it looks gross in the pics because I coated it inside and out with fluid film, it's very humid where I live so I got to protect her at all costs:dancing:

Man i wish i could find a parts car like that red one on the first page. That front end looked good. My 89 es turbo in red has blue es front end because thats the only color parts car available. Would be sweet to swap esp since some idiot backed his huge truck hitch right into my driver headlight

Front nose and roof was probably the only thing holding that car together, that car was ripe! When I say the car had no floor it had NO floor or frame rails or firewall or strut towers or anything, just plastic trim and carpet with some rust flakes. Amazing it made it home on the U-haul trailer because when I pulled into my driveway the car came off the trailer and the k-frame was still attached to the trailer.. good times

Yikes! We bought an 88 tII parts car back in 2005 that had been vandlized. All windows smashed out and the car was left outside for a year. The interior was nasty. rotten to the max. had to sit on thick towels to drive it and wear helmets because the windshield was spider webbed and had a gaping hole. It was mechanically sound though drove pretty good.

The trick is to have a garage that is either climate controlled or having it beneath your house. My CS sat in a garage that was directly beneath the original owner's house and connected to the air and heat system. The car had some rust in places from when it was driven in the winters for a number of year from 88 to possibly 91 or 92. But in general, the car is cleaner than a southern car. Unfortunately, my garage isn't like this, and Idk what'll happen over the next years lol.

if you have to drive it in winter leave it outside

parking a wet salty car indoors will actually rot it quicker as it dosen't get to freeze

parked inside it will stay wet and rust much faster

as long as somthing's sheltered in storage it should be ok

parked my 79 f150 in the garage - it continued to rust slowly for 3 more years then stoped completely

been in there 20 years now as of january been exactly the same for the last 17

oil spray works wonders too if done regularly - this is why my orig toronto truck still has solid floors in the cab & box + the bottom edges of the body are still intact - cept for a cab corner

Yeah thats very true lol. Salt and water cause rust faster in higher temps. My car was driven my the guy's wife for a few years, the turbo scared her, so he turned it into his hobby car.

I've been driving it all this winter, but hopefully this is the only time I'll have to. If my dreams come true I wont be in ohio for another winter lol, but if I am, I'll get a beater.

Pulling the trigger! Began tearing down the spare motor to see what i'm in for... looks good actually, head is newer but I think it's a china casting, no cracks to be seen though. Turbo is shot, wheel had been hitting the wall for a looong time. All came apart easy EXCEPT that g dam nut behind the turbo flange on the exaust manifold, 30min with a cold chisel it came off...

Hoping it's factory bore, yet to measure.

On a roll... fixed up the hockey sticks today and also the headlight module... the rare one with delay! $46 fix, only had to pay for the tube of panel bond, worked very well. Molds are carbboard and hot glue and foam underneath to prevent sagging while setup. Still gotta drill the holes and install speed clips.

So that head is chinese remanufactured? Wonder how well those are made. I thought about them before as a back up lol. Its cheaper to head down to pull a part and pull one in perfect for $35 lol.

Word was that chrysler sold the 2.2/2.5 machining equipment to china years ago and they still make the engines over there for whatever reasons. Other word was that the equipment is well worn out and the stuff being made is out of tolerance. Not sure what to make of it but this head looks really good and it's deff not a mexico casting, it is stamped "91" though..?
