I have a 1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z for sale, in USA - Georgia.
Mileage: 172,480 miles
VIN: 1B3CA64A9JG300193
Engine Size: 2.2L
Asking price is $2,950
1988 Shelby Z - stock appearance with many mechanical upgrades. This is my ninth Daytona and by far the one that has seen the most love over the five years I've owned it. A/C delete. Car is from Colorado and has no rust underneath whatsoever. Clean Carfax and title history, though paint is far from original and there is evidence of a minor accident at some point in its life. About 172,xxx original miles.
Runs strong! Many improvements made with genuine parts sourced from TurbosUnleashed and FWDPerformance:
FWDP Manual Boost Controller (original stock Wastegate solenoid still present)
180 degree thermostat
Vacuum Block with upgraded Poly lines
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
Talon BOV
K&N Filter in stock airbox
Newer ZF Power Steering pump
Poly engine mounts and Bobble Strut
Refurbed original stock BRASS radiator (car runs nice and cool)
TU remanufactured stock Garrett Turbo with quick spool option
Braided oil lines to turbo
TU 3" swing valve
TU 3" downpipe and full exhaust
3" high flow cat (exhaust tip w/o muffler presently)
TU PURPLE 6-puck Clutch with HD disk ~ 1K miles
OEM Hall Effect coil
New Ignition coil
OEM +20 injectors
KONI Adjustable Yellows up front (not a misprint)
Eibach springs (the discontinued firmer model)
Upgraded to 3-wire speed sensor
Front rotors and pads have about 5K miles on them - have set of back rotors uninstalled
Newer rear calipers ~ 7K miles ago
New Delco Oil Pressure Sender
Falken 225/50/15 tires with about 2K miles on them
Replaced factory cloth interior with full leather "Enthusiast" interior
16-way driver's seat is fully operational and in excellent condition
Infiniti speakers and Sony head unit (but I prefer sound of the car)
Headliner is in like-new condition
NAPA HD CV axles
Mad Dog Short Throw Shifter
OEM Crabs are in excellent shape
Some things that may need to be addressed based on your taste include:
Paint faded on roof & f/r black trim and hood is starting to check/fade
Crack in windshield
Window motors are getting sluggish
Professional alignment
I got bumped in the parking lot (left no note) and they bruised the front clip (but no sheet metal damage) as you can see in the close-up pic. I plasti-welded and sprayed the damaged area below the bump strip. Looks decent now. Additionally, the front passenger fender has an area where the previous owner did a substandard repair. I sanded and laquered the area so it isn't hateful now, but I have a straight, OEM fender that goes with car should you want to make it look perfect. If you look closely at the passenger side pic, you can see the dull spot in front of the wheel well.
The value of upgraded components far exceeds the asking price. I don't want to sell but I'm not driving the car anymore and it should go to someone that can enjoy it regularly or even drive it daily. I drove it daily for two years with no issues. It's a nice car overall and is well on its way to being a fantastic weekend auto-crosser and/or daily driver. If I had the time I'd continue putting the effort into it, but alas, a newborn baby and job transfer to NC have left me with a lot on my plate. I have some additional parts I will be selling separately, including another A-555 transmission, Innovate wideband system and other stock parts.
