How hard is to drill the factory tail lights? We have the APC Euro's, but still like the blue dots...

A standard drill bit will break chunks out of the tail lens. I've used special plastic drills successfully, they have a very different cutting tip ground into them. I would recommend going to a junkyard, getting a scrap tail lens or two and experimenting with them, whatever you use to cut the holes. There's a learning curve here and it wouldn't do to mess-up a good tail lens.

We used a soldering iron to melt into the light originally, then used a dremel to widen to the propper size. Worked great...smelled digusting ( the burning part). My husband & I both tossed the old cookies. Do it outside & hold your breath!! ;)

The best and safest way to drill the hole for the "blue dots" is to use a Dremmel.

Once the hole is established all you have to do is use a sanding cylinder to get the hole to the exact size. This way you get a nice tight fit. Then just put a small bead of silicone sealer on the inside of the chrome ring to make sure no water gets inside.

A great looking (and inexpensive ....for a change) add-on. |)

Like Rachel, I started with a small hole and then worked up to the finished size with a dremel with a sanding drum attachment. I put masking tape on lens and drew a circle as guide and it worked pretty well.

They look great! Thanks for sharing. :) Maybe I'll have to try this after all. Where did you get the blue dots? I think I've seen them on Ebay for $6.99 but they were advertised for a Harley.
