88 Sundance 2.2 T1, G-valve set to super low... pretty much 5psi maybe 6psi.
When I hit about 4k rpm, sometimes I can get close to 5k rpm my car bucks real bad. It happens wide open or not. Feels a little like cutout, but it ain't - boost guage is rock solid at 5-6. It feels like its cutting spark, I've replaced the coil and HEP. Plugs are in ok shape, don't want to spend money on a wire set (I don't plan on keeping this car around). I should have a spare coil wire around though =p
I keep thinking it may be a weak fuel pump, but I can't say for sure... it doesn't feel like it really dies off... just sudden bucking. I don't see why it would cut the injectors unless it hits overboost, so thats why I'm leaning towards a spark problem.
Now, I can't pull codes anymore. I had to replace my SMEC... and my replacement one doesn't like lighting up my check engine light. This happened before and after the swap, so it's not the problem.
Any ideas? Thanks... =p
