Hey:
My dad is selling a 1989 Daytona with a T1 auto. When you drive the car on the road it feels like it only has 1/2 power at WOT. A guy came by to take the car for a drive and said that the power loss light came on. The turbo doesn't reach positive boost until about 3,500 rpm. I think the problem is the throttle sensor but I'm not sure? As far as we know all the vacuum lines are hooked up properly. The car is hour and a half away from here, and the guy would like to pick the car up tomorrow. My dad will go out there tomorrow and mess around with it.
We bought the car from my cuz who had a moron change the head. The mech used both short and long valves in the head so it had no compression in one cycender, 3? I changed heads out and it's running better than it was but not by much. Could it also be the computer out of calibration? While driving the car the guy, looking to buy the car, said that it's starting to run better the more it drives?
Thanx:
BobJoe
