In 90 they changed to monochromatic or 1 color exteriors. The paint is good except for the roof and the hatch which I had to paint due to the paint peel. Borduex, red, maroon, ugly porno red its all the same to me.

I got those rims off ebay about 3 years ago actually. They were like $ 200 or 300 something shipped and are 16x7 RSL or RS Limited in white. can't remember the name style, maybe tarantula or something. I love them. wayyyyyy lighter than my heavy ass white pumpers.

Hello everyone. I'm Partick. This is my first post here on the turbo dodge forum.

Here are some pics. of my '89 Daytona ES 2.5 Turbo and a few alongside my '85 Lancer. I bought the Daytona last November and drove it for several months while the Lancer was O.O.C. (needed a new transmission at the time). About the time we installed the new transmission in the Lancer, the head gasket blew on the Daytona... Luckily I had an identical parts car with a good head on it. The head on the parts car was also ported & polished when the previous owner had it and included a Mopar performance cam. Needless to say, the Daytona really moves out now! As you can see - it could use a new paintjob & it needs a little TLC. It's a solid and fun car to drive though & a real sleeper. And you gotta love them crushed velour seats! :p Both these Dodges are my daily drivers but the Lancer is in much better cosmetic and mechanical shape, it actually just recently hit 100,000 miles. No telling how many miles are on the Daytona - the odometer is broken. On the plus side the 2.5 in it currently is a remanufactured one and was apparently installed in '02.

I have to say, there's nothing more fun than driving through the hills of KY in my little Turbo Dodge. :D

My 1990 Daytona is white as well but has the maroon interior. Your's is bordaux (according to Reaper1). Was there ever a RED interior? Or are maroon and bordaux the only "reds" Daytona came with?

Also, in 1990, did any Daytonas come ALL white on the outside? I don't recall ever seeing a factory Daytona that WASN'T two tone, except for the Daytonas without ground effects...
Bordaux was available from 1984-1990. It is also known are maroon.

RED was available from 1991-1992(I dunno if it was available in 1993 in Daytona's)

In 1990 Shelby's were ALL monochromatic, ES's were available in both 2-tone and mono IIRC. In 1991 both models went back to 2-tone.

Some were two tone and some weren't in '90.

I'm not sure, but it may be a shelby thing. I had an es model that was black and silver, and now I have a white shelby vnt that's all white, no two tone (except for the black on the wing).

I've never seen a 90 daytona shelby that wasn't all one color, for whatever that's worth.

cky, what rims are those? Did you paint them, or did they come that way? Those are the nicest looking white rims that I've ever seen on a daytona!:thumb:
See above comment...

Bordaux and maroon are the same. Red is a brighter, more vibrant color. Ugly porno red...that's in it's own class, only available in Town Cars and Caddy's...:thumb:

I have seen a '93 Daytona with the red interior. Most were some neutral color like gray though. My '90 is white with the Bordeaux interior. Really pissed me off when I first got the car because I brought home RED replacement bits from the junkyard and they didn't match. '90 is a 1-off year for the interior, so if you find the Bordeaux in a '90 car, grab as much of it as you can. Getting hard to replace stuff.

The Shelbys did go monochromatic in '90 while it was optional on the ES, but in '91 the Shelbys stayed mostly monochromatic. Every one I've seen is single-tone, but I keep hearing there were 2-tone Shelbys that year. Maybe people complained and ChryCo allowed them to order it 2-tone. I don't know. Remember though that the IROC Daytona debuted that year as well and the IROCs were monochromatic.

There was that red and black mixed interior too... I always that it was kind of cool looking. A little ricer-ish, but since it was stock, I can live with it.:)

Other than that one, which is rare, I don't think that I've personally seen a real red interior in a daytona.

I have only seen 2 91 and up cars with Red interior in person and that was a 92 Iroc/Shelby. It was leather and pretty much two-tone color red with black. The other was a 93 Daytona ES with Red cloth. Also in 84 and 85 you could get red interior in a Daytona. I have seen tons of those cars with Red interior. Bordaux came out in 86. I still think the best color was Saddle Brown only on 84's. :)

I am gonna post a pic up for my buddy.
He is a proud new owner of an 89 t2 shelby ttop car. The paint is rough on the car but the body has VERY VERY little rust which is fantastic for a ttop gbody. Overall a fantastic buy. shes got a rod knock but still started and ran on the trailer.
