The Donortona is starting to look pretty bad. I feel like a villain.:run:


Honestly though, I can stick my hand through the firewall and grab dashboard from the top of both front wheel wells. She can't fly again.

it's only sheetmetal weld a patch in body looks fairly straight no one will see it so even if it has booger welds who gives a poop.

but I've resisted the move to scrap my t top car thus far - yes it's grey , got both t tops and leather and is still the only one like it I've seen so far :thumb:

Already did that on the other one. :thumb: The problem is this one is completely gone. From the rear floor pans all they way up to the middle of the firewall on both sides And there is bad rot on the quarters and rockers. It's death means life for my '87. Still, it makes me sad to see any classic car go to the crusher, I've never put a car to death before. I don't like it.

& grey with t-top AND leather - seen 5 or 6 grey shelbys with one or the other but mine is the only one I've seen with both so far - bought it back in 95-96 hasen't been driven since 98 - but my floors / rockers rotted sitting unused - fudge

So I found a posting on cl for 88 daytona. I've been looking for a few years now but unrusted cars in mn are hard to come by. The guy wasnt asking ton of money for it so I called. I was shocked when I showed up. The paint is really faded and the rims need to be redone, but other than that the car is solid. There is no rust underneath anywhere, I mean it looks new. Hell the ebrake even works. It has a little over 77000 miles, I just had to have it. 5 speed with the t2 for 800 dollars, who wouldnt..Here's some pics

That sucks I hate to see a T-Top car go like that but when you can see daylight from behind the strut towers it's done for


If you can save the windshield, T-Top glass isn't available aftermarket

Indeed. I thought T-top windshields were the same as non-t-top? I'm planning on pulling all the glass, but it was so I could save it for the 87!

The thing runs like a dream. The guy bought the car, had it for 6months and had the head replaced, was told it was cracked. Then the clutch went out, and I guess that was the last straw. Drove the car home and the only issue is the headlights didnt pop up. Found a forum on this site and corrected the issue. Now it goes into controlled storage for the next couple of years till the kids are older and I have a chance to work on it..

Im not sure, but I know the guys with t-top cars really want them. They are hard to find and no glass company will carry or do them..

ya , I think maybe t top windshields are hard to find cause there never was such a thing

it's just a regular ol hard top windshield with some plastic trim and diff rubber edgeing around the glass

nothing changes with regard to the windshield frame , heck even the edge of the front of the roof is still there under all that plastic cladding

though I have noticed the windshield frames seem to be crooked on some cars - with a tendancy for the pass side front corner to be higher than the driver's side

mine is like that

the parts car above seems to be that way too - as are some others I've seen

side glass is the same too , cept for the extra brackets added inside the door to keep the glass straight in the door
