Having issue with both power windows. They will go down at pretty decent speed but when i press switch for them to go up the windows move really slow. Wondering if it needs a new switch? Maybe bad connections? Or weak battery perhaps? I say this because i installed new regulator tape on both regulators with grease last week thinking that would solve the problem. Windows go down fine but sluggish going up. Any suggestions or thoughts on what to do?

Very often its the old lube on the window guides.

The original grease looses its lubricity and turns into glue.

The old stiff needs to be completely removed then relubed.

It's probably not the switch if they're actually moving.

A low battery certainly doesn't help.

Thanks

It can be all that Randy said combined or just the old lube.
I would clean and re-grease as Randy said. Do that first.
If it works, great.
If it's only a little better, check ALL electrical connections to the motor and clean with a non-abrasive contact cleaner.
Lastly you want to check you're Alternator output and battery's condition, including the terminals and the ground connection to the block.

(NOTE: I noticed that my car's drivers side is a bit hard to roll up/down (manual window glass). I'm going to clean that out and replace the old grease.)

what he said ..

there's a guide post for the window in the middle of the door and there should be a nylon guide piece that slides along the post .. it may be toast..

there is also a motor speed adjustment screw on the motor as a last resort

also , the motors may simply need removed from the door & cleaned out where the gear drives the window track/belt/strip/thingy

I am currently (and have been for 2 years) experiencing the same problem (keep putting it off), especially with the driver side window.
I have cleaned and re-lubed the regulator/flex drive assembly, sprayed the weatherstrip to no avail, in the cold, winter months the window goes up...Sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
As soon as the weather warms I plan on cleaning/re-lubing and replacing the window motor and flex drive.

When lubing the guide weatherstrip/channels do not use an oil based lubricant, use a Silicone Lubricant and allow to dry.
Be sure to clean any dirt/debris from the guides before spraying lube.
Do not use oil based lubricants on the regulator/flex drive/gear assemblies, use a synthetic lube that is water resistant and not affected by temperature.

Also be sure the window motor is actually seeing the proper voltage and that you have good continuity to ground on the ground circuit.

thought I posted this the other day but I don't see it

one of the major issues to be found with our power windows is often the pad like connector on the bottom of the window switches
it corrodes very badly -- sometimes

it can be opened up so you can try to clean the terminals but take a pic or make a drawing first so you get everything back in it's proper place

Following up to see if you corrected your issue.

After two+ years I finally got around to mine.
I replaced the window motor (New Dorman, which was a Mopar part with Mopar Sticker), flex drive and cleaned the entire regulator assembly, I had used Anti-Seize Lube previously and it hardened like a rock, took forever to clean it all off using Brake Cleaner, a very thin screwdriver to scrape and a rag.
Once cleaned I only applied a Very Thin/Light coat of Synthetic Wheel Bearing Grease to the regulator.

Window works much better, even though it is not winter I could see a major difference in the window going up.
