Manual HVAC or ATC?

 

AC deleted. Removed all lines and compressor. Sealed off any openings. Also disconnected lines to passenger side vacuum relay.Front relay of 2 on passenger side fender. Had this issue once before deleting these vacuum lines.

Also power top does not respond until fuse replaced.

 

I had a simular issue with the automatic climate control, which I retrofitted in to mt Spirit. It turned out to be a loose power contact for the control unt. Since I fixed it, I have not had any more issues.

Fuse #2(20 Amp) or Fuse #4(30 Amp Circuit Breaker)?
When does it blow...?
Only with ATC use?

The control unit in the dash, not the driver module in the air box.

 

Any power wire in the circuit that is grounded(even intermittantly) or any component in the circuit that has excessive amperage draw will cause the fuse to blow.

Do you have the wiring schematics for your vehicle?

 

He does not. He didn't fix the problem when he handed me the keys, either lol.

Trying to troubleshoot so I dont die at -40C

edit: the fuse doesn't blow any more, only the vent is doing any blowing around here

double edit: just checked the #4 fuse. it was blown beyond recognition. slapped in another, lo and behold, it works!

the auto temp control has a self diagnose feature just like the engine ecu.. with fault codes n all

you just have to remember what buttons to push at the same time to begin diagnosis

I am assuming we just fast forwarded 6 years and you just purchased the car.

Can we get a recap on what problems still exist that you need/want help with?

 

If I can find all of it I should have the complete 1989 FSM set. (not for sale) so can scan some of it once I find the wiring and electrical portions.
