Have a little primer overspray on top of my clearcoat, any easy way to remove?

it depends how old is the clear? what type on primer? a sealer or a sandable primer? spray can or gun? if you have old clear and the primer is out of a spray can you can use acetone or a mild paint thinner to clean it up. but be careful don't leave it on there to long or it will destroy the paint. I have done it this way for years!!! if the clear is new DON'T use any type of chemical!! it will be to soft and the acetone will destroy your paint!! if it is new clear use a super fine polishing compound to clean it up. i normally don't use the polishing compound on the old clear because it is so hard it can be hard to cut.

Before going at your paint with a solvent, try a clay bar. You should be able to find one from Meguiars at Auto Zone or Wal Mart. It's a little pricey (+/- $20ish or so), but it does remove overspray without hurting paint. As a matter of fact, it will also pick up other embedded debris from your paint and leave the finish baby butt smooth!

I would avoid trying laquer thinner it will soften most anything includeing plastic trim , paint thinner ya , but it won't be very agressive

I used a combo of paint thinner , then cleaning / polishing compound - my charcoal grey car had a red tint to it from overspray , but I managed to get it all off - it took some honest work to do though

when you get to the compound , a spray bottle full of water helps - to keep the work area wet
